BTS: Inside Matty's Chicago Fridge

Matty is in Chicago filming the next season of *The Bear*. We want to know what he bought for his fridge. What items did he choose to feel at home and cook his daily meals? Let's dive in!

Chef Matty Matheson's Fridge for Season 3 of The Bear

Matty's Fridge Essentials

  1. Coffee: First thing is first, make sure to set yourself up for the day with the good stuff done right. I'm a simple guy. A Pour Over coffee in the Matheson Set with Rink Drink is a nice way to wake up. It takes minimal effort.
  2. Eggs: Boilers mainly. I like them at 6 minutes but you do you. I throw a bunch of these in the pot keeping them on hand for a post-pump for the week.
  3. Olive Oil: Definitely a kitchen staple. I don't mess around and stick to a quality oil like Frankie's.
  4. Chili Crisp: Makes everything taste better. Fly by Jing is a banger.
  5. Giardiniera: This choice is very Chicago, but I like it so much it's in the kitchen in Fort Erie too! Plus, I’m ordering a lot of post-shoot day hot dogs to the condo.

  1. Matheson Food Co. Mac & Cheese: Call me biased, but it is a superior boxed mac. Want to get crazy? Put some of that Chili Crisp on it!
  2. Mayonnaise: I’m a Hellman’s guy, and I'm cooking for one in Chicago, two if Ricky or Ebon comes over. I'm making sandwiches and easy stuff like tuna melts—I’m a big fan.
  3. Roasted Chicken: I go for that grocery store cooked, hot and ready. It's salty, it's easy, and it's perfect to eat alone.
  4. Non-Alcoholic Beer: Still sober and still love ending a full day of imposter syndrome with a cold Peroni 0.0%.
  5. Dark Chocolate: Or at least I try to keep it dark. Full disclosure: sometimes it's a Crunchie Bar or a KitKat, but we don't judge. The fridge should be a safe space.
